We are professional dog handlers specializing in weddings. During the planning process, we act as your dog's wedding planner, taking care of all the logistics and coordinating with your vendors to incorporate your best fur-end seamlessly. 

On the wedding day, we step in as your pup's plus one, ensuring they’re set up for success and ready to be the most well-behaved guest there. We provide your dog with safe transportation to the venue, individualized attention and assist with all the key moments you want them to be a part of.

Weddings are a totally new ball game for your pup because your dog is in a completely unfamiliar environment. The level of attention to detail and awareness required is much higher compared to traditional pet sitting. Bringing a dog to a wedding, which is a public event, increases the risk and liability involved. Unlike their home, where they are comfortable and know their surroundings, a wedding can be full of distractions, potential triggers, unfamiliar faces and unpredictable situations. 

When my best friend got married, she asked me to be her bridesmaid and also be responsible for her 2 dogs. Naturally, I said yes, but I won't lie, it was stressful AF! Between juggling my bridesmaid duties and keeping the dogs calm and cared for, I ended up missing precious moments. 

Entrusting a family member or friend might seem like a good idea (and yes, cheaper), but what you're really asking is for them to sacrifice fully enjoying the day. Not only do they miss out on key moments, but the dog also suffers when their needs aren’t properly met. Whether it's missing a walk, being overstimulated, or not getting enough water, it can lead to stress for the dog too. 

We have experience specifically working with dogs in a wedding environment and with our on-site support, your family can enjoy the best guest experience at your wedding without any distractions.

Independent pet sitters can sometimes be a gamble and bring nightmare scenarios. Imagine them ghosting you or cancelling last minute on your wedding day, causing unnecessary stress when you need it least. Many also lack the experience needed to recognize dog body language, working in stressful environments, or have proper safety protocols in place. Additionally, since the pet sitting industry is unregulated, not all pet sitters are insured or licensed. This can leave you in a vulnerable spot if something goes wrong. 

Yes, clients must sign a contract to work with us. Our contracts are carefully prepared and regularly updated by qualified lawyers to ensure they meet all legal requirements and protect everyone involved. This legally binding agreement clearly outlines the terms and conditions of our services, providing clarity and protection for both parties.

Yes, we provide transportation for your dogs as part of our wedding day dog care experience. We will pick up your dog up from the designated address you have provided and ensure they are safely returned home.

We encourage clients to help set their dog up for success prior to the big day by working on leash training beforehand. 

Yes, our wedding dog attendants can certainly escort your pup down the aisle if that's something you'd like to include in your ceremony. If you have someone special in mind, relative or a friend you'd like to give the honor to, we can help take over once your dog reaches the end of the aisle. After your pup has made their grand entrance, we’ll take them to their seats or a designated area where they can rest and relax throughout the remainder of the ceremony. 

Yes, we do offer overnight stays in your home as a premium add-on service. However, overnights are subject to availability, your dog's temperament, and their specific needs. Please keep in mind that our team members, who also have pets at home, make special arrangements to accommodate your pup, which is why this service is priced at a premium. 

Yes! We are anticipating expanding our services into the Greater Vancouver area in the future, however, our current operations are based out of Victoria, BC. 

For destination weddings and clients 3 hours or more outside of the service area, travel fees include but are not limited to ferry fares, flight tickets, car rentals, milage, and parking fees. Additionally, accommodations must be provided for 2 nights minimum. Given the frequent delays experienced with ferries and airlines, we do not offer same day travel. 

Honestly, there’s something so special about seeing someone’s soul dog who has been by their side through it all, walking them down the aisle. Our dogs are only a chapter of our lives, but we’re their entire story. To be there creating these core memories that our couples will cherish forever is such a privilege. I tear up every time, it hits you right in the heart.  

We absolutely love working with pawrents who share the same level of obsession for their dogs as we do for ours. Couples who see their dogs as more than just a dog. To them, their dogs are their entire world; they are cherished family members, best friends, and soulmates. They understand their fur baby's comfort matters as much as those perfect florals and linens, if not more.  

People who aren’t kind, challenging to work with, try to bargain with us, don’t appreciate what we bring to the table, or put their own emotions over their dog’s needs.

For everyone's safety, Brides With Dogs does not work with severely aggressive or red zone dogs. We rely on responsible pet owners to verify their dogs have not harmed or shown any aggressive and dangerous behavior towards any person or other pets. 

Weddings are not the appropriate environment for red zone or severely aggressive dogs as they can pose a risk to the safety of others. Additionally, many venues and vendors have strict rules and regulations around the presence of dogs, and aggressive dogs may not be permitted to attend. It is important to respect these rules and the safety of other guests, even if it means leaving your dog at home.  

Your commitment to being a responsible pet owner contributes to the overall success and enjoyment of the celebration. If, for any reason, your dog may not meet the criteria set by the venue or if their presence could compromise the safety of others, we can explore other alternative arrangements to have them be involved, without physically being there.

Yes, we are licensed and fully insured for commercial liability. 

Our 25% deposit policy ensures that your wedding or event reservation is confirmed and reserved exclusively for you. When you book with Brides With Dogs, we require a 25% deposit to secure your date, time, and location. This deposit helps us ensure that all the necessary arrangements are made to provide you with the best possible experience on your special day.

We recommend booking our services as early as possible to ensure availability. We generally recommend booking at least 6-12 months in advance for weddings. However, we can work with clients who have shorter timelines, and welcome last-minute inquiries.
